In some instances the techniques closely resemble both Indonesian, Chinese and Filipino martial movement. This is no surprise if you know anything about the history of Russian Martial Arts - they were a directive to train and assimilate martial knowledge from around the world and bring it "home" to improve the scope of Sambo.
